Temporary Facilities Maintenance Electrical Engineer

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (some flexibility available)

Pay Rate

£26.00–£28.00 per hour (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join the maintenance team at a large, busy shopping centre in Northampton on a temporary contract with an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrical maintenance engineer with a strong background in commercial building maintenance and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and building services.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance and fault-finding requests.
  • Test, inspect, and maintain emergency lighting systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently.
  • Complete maintenance records and job reports accurately.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with current regulations.
  • Liaise with the site team to minimise disruption to tenants and visitors.

Essential Requirements

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Previous experience within commercial facilities maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
