Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Electrical Maintenance Operative. The team is multi skilled and this role provides an opportunity to learn new skills and share your talent. You will be carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance recorded on JLL’s CAFM system as well as many other tasks that working in a busy shopping centre requires.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, ensuring standards are maintained and liaising with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to address concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with business risk management procedures and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, including CAFM system updates.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to client liaison, ensuring effective communication and escalation of concerns where necessary.
  • Support operational requirements including participation in standby rota for emergency calls outside normal working hours.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, strong teamwork, leadership qualities, and a ‘can do' attitude while maintaining high standards across electrical and building services systems.
  • Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner.
  • Ensure accurate detailed reporting and escalate issues where required.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment are handled, stored, and used with due regard to the relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Actively participate in the health and safety processes required under JLL policies and procedures including, but not limited to, completing risk assessments, reporting good catch /near miss observations, adhering to COSHH guidance.
  • Undertake any other reasonable instruction from the Contract Manager.
  • Additional training will be provided as necessary.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Substantial practical experience with a comprehensive knowledge of all building services disciplines.
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrical.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • AM2 Qualification.
  • Experience in a technical estates or facilities management environments.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work flexibly within a team.
  • Ability to work to time constraints while maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
  • Smart appearance, presentable.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements, willing to accept change.
  • Customer focused.
  • Reliable.

  • Resides geographically near to job site.
  • Compliant to company and site personnel policies.
