Permanent Electrical Mobile Authorised Person

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Electrical Mobile Authorised Person supporting the Ministry of Defence (MOD) housing portfolio across Scotland. This is an impactful role within our Defence account, helping to ensure the safe, compliant and effective delivery of electrical maintenance and additional works across critical military estate properties. Working closely with operational teams, supply chain partners and MOD stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of electrical safety, compliance and technical assurance.

This home-based, mobile position provides excellent flexibility, variety and the opportunity to influence electrical safety performance across a diverse property portfolio while supporting improvements in sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives.

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical assurance and oversight of electrical works across MOD housing and related projects.
  • Assess and authorise Skilled Persons, ensuring operatives are competent and qualified to undertake electrical activities safely.
  • Review Electrical Installation Certificates, Minor Works Certificates, Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and associated test documentation to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Verify that Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements are in place and being followed.
  • Provide expert electrical advice and support to operational teams, supply chain partners, Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) representatives and customers.
  • Support site audits, risk reviews and continuous improvement activities, helping to identify opportunities that contribute to carbon reduction and operational excellence.
  • Some travel throughout Scotland will be required, with occasional overnight stays as business needs dictate.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • City & Guilds Inspection and Testing qualification (2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent).
  • Extensive knowledge of BS7671 and electrical inspection, testing and certification within domestic properties.
  • Experience reviewing EICRs, Electrical Installation Certificates and Minor Works Certificates.
  • Previous experience as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor or within a technical electrical compliance or certification role would be advantageous.

Security Clearance

This role supports the Ministry of Defence estate and will be subject to the appropriate security screening requirements. Successful candidates will be required to satisfy relevant pre-employment and security clearance checks before appointment.
