Electrical Operations Engineer

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking with a passion for leadership, asset reliability and continuous improvement?
ICL is seeking an experienced Electrical Operations Engineer professional, the role provides technical leadership and guidance across all electrical systems and assets, setting and ensuring compliance with the required safety, engineering and maintenance standards while maintaining the highest levels of reliability and operational performance.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of eight electrical personnel, including a Foreman, Chargehand and Electricians, providing coaching, mentoring and technical guidance while promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
The role is accountable for electrical maintenance strategy, asset reliability, budget management and the identification, development and delivery of capital investment projects.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Boulby & Tees Dock, the Electrical Operations Engineer is responsible for leading all electrical engineering activities at Tees Dock.

What you will be doing
As Electrical Operations Engineer, you will:
- Lead and develop a team of electrical technicians, providing coaching, mentoring and technical guidance.
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring the highest engineering and operational standards are consistently maintained.
- Drive asset reliability and performance by developing and maintaining effective maintenance strategies.
- Identify and implement innovative technologies and engineering solutions that improve safety, efficiency and operational performance.
- Deliver improvement projects that optimise operations and reduce risk associated with electrical systems and equipment.
- Manage capital investment proposals and support project delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
- Act as a technical leader within the business, setting professional standards and encouraging a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrable experience leading, coaching and developing engineering teams within an industrial environment.
- Proven experience in asset management, maintenance strategy development and budget management within an industrial environment.
- Experience developing and delivering capital investment projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Candidates qualified to HNC/HND level with significant relevant industrial experience will also be considered and supported in working towards a degree.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards professional registration, is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, control systems and automation equipment, particularly within conveyor-based operations.
- An understanding of the operation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems.
- Extensive experience in engineering maintenance and asset reliability improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for developing people and improving performance.
