Electrical Project Engineer | Harwich | Up to £55,000 per annum | Excellent benefits

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Harwich.

This is a varied role within the engineering team, responsible for delivering electrical, instrumentation and control projects across the site, from initial design and specification through to installation, commissioning and handover.

The Role

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing electrical and EC&I projects, including plant modifications and new installations
  • Producing electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
  • Working with LV systems, motor controls, PLCs, DCS and instrumentation
  • Supporting hazardous area electrical installations and process safety requirements
  • Managing contractors, suppliers, quotations, project schedules and costs
  • Supporting commissioning, validation and project handover
  • Working closely with Production, Maintenance, Operations and SHEQ teams
  • Ensuring projects comply with relevant engineering, safety and regulatory standards, including COMAH requirements

The Person

The Successful Electrical Project Engineer Will Ideally Have

  • A strong electrical engineering background within an industrial, manufacturing or process environment
  • Experience managing electrical engineering projects from design through to completion.
  • Knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems
  • Experience with PLCs, DCS or industrial control systems
  • Experience with hazardous areas, ATEX/EN 60079 or DSEAR would be advantageous
  • Experience managing contractors and external suppliers
  • Knowledge of commissioning, plant modifications and project handover
  • Good understanding of health & safety, RAMS and CDM requirements
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
