About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager/Engineer to lead the delivery of electrical and controls packages across complex automated material handling and industrial automation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the electrical and controls scope throughout the full project lifecycle, from sales handover to commissioning and customer sign-off.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all electrical and controls-related project activities.
- Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and system integration partners.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, budgets, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Oversee electrical engineering, hardware design, PLC/HMI programming, commissioning preparation, FAT/SAT activities, and documentation delivery.
- Ensure customer specifications, technical standards, and project requirements are fully understood and implemented.
- Work closely with customers, project managers, sales teams, engineering departments, procurement, production, service teams, and external contractors.
- Lead technical discussions and clarify requirements throughout project delivery.
- Provide regular project updates on engineering progress, commissioning readiness, technical challenges, and risk mitigation.
- Support and coordinate testing & commissioning.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all technical issues are resolved efficiently to achieve customer satisfaction and successful project completion.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in: Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Marine Engineering, Electrical Technology
- Previous experience managing electrical or controls-focused projects within: Industrial automation, Material handling systems, Manufacturing, Special purpose machinery, Logistics automation
- Strong understanding of: PLC and HMI systems, Industrial control systems, Electrical panel design, Drives and motion systems, Safety systems, Sensors and instrumentation, Fieldbus and industrial networking technologies
- Ability to interpret and review technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within multidisciplinary teams.
