Electrical Quality Supervisor
The Electrical Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all Fire & Security electrical installations, maintenance, and commissioning activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and company quality procedures. The role focuses on driving high-quality workmanship, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across Fire & Security systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance
- Monitor and audit Fire and Security installations (including Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, and related systems) to ensure compliance with:
- BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
- BS 5839, BS 5266, BS EN 50131, BS EN 62676, and other relevant standards.
- Company quality management systems and procedures.
- Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and technical assessments.
- Identify non-conformances, issue corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.

Technical Oversight
- Review electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for compliance and quality.
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover processes.
- Assist with fault investigations and root cause analysis.
Supervision & Training
- Deliver toolbox talks, quality briefings, and technical training as required.
- Promote best practice in installation, testing, and documentation.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures and processes.
- Support internal and external audits (e.g., BAFE, SSAIB, NSI, ISO).
- Monitor trends in defects and implement preventive measures.
- Stay up to date with changes in legislation, standards, and industry best practice.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety legislation and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture on site.
- Support risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) review.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential:
- Electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH).
- Experience conducting quality inspections and audits.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Full UK driving licence (if applicable).
Desirable:
- Strong working knowledge of electrical and Fire & Security standards.
- Proven experience in the Fire & Security industry.
- Previous supervisory or quality assurance role.
- Experience working with BAFE, NSI, SSAIB, or ISO quality systems.
- Knowledge of commissioning and certification processes.
