Purpose of Role
To safely carry out rope access and electrical work activities on onshore and offshore installations in accordance with IRATA standards, Dron & Dickson management systems, client requirements, and relevant legislative requirements. The role requires the competent use of rope access techniques to access work locations, whilst undertaking electrical inspection, installation, maintenance, and project-related activities within the individual's competence and training.
Key Responsibilities
Rope Access Responsibilities
- Carry out pre-use inspections and basic maintenance of all appointed rope access equipment.
- Assist with rope access rigging and rescue activities as directed by the Rope Access Level 3 Supervisor.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge and safe application of the IRATA International Code of Practice (ICOP) and Dron & Dickson rope access procedures.
- Safely and competently apply rope access and working at height techniques in accordance with IRATA Level 1 requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date IRATA logbook in accordance with Company and IRATA requirements.
Electrical & Project Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned electrical and project-related work activities in accordance with approved procedures, specifications and work scopes.
- Liaise daily with client representatives and worksite personnel.
- Ensure all work activities are completed in compliance with Dron & Dickson's Integrated Management System, including Health, Safety, Environment and Quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, industry standards and client management system requirements.
- Participate actively in toolbox talks, risk assessments and site safety activities.
- Inform the Dron & Dickson Chargehand of any site modifications or changes affecting the assigned work scope, including the marking up of "As Built" drawings where required.
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as requested by management, within agreed competency levels and skills matrix.
- Submit approved client and company timesheets accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Training
Essential
- IRATA Rope Access Level 1 Certification.
- Relevant Electrical Apprenticeship or City & Guilds / SVQ Level 2 (or equivalent).
- COMPEX Ex01-Ex04.
- BOSIET / FOET.
- UKOOA Medical (or equivalent offshore medical certification).
- MIST.
- Working at Height Unit 2 (PPE User).
Desirable
- PPE Inspection - Competent Person.
- Additional COMPEX modules.
- Further rope access or offshore inspection qualifications.
Experience Required
- Post-apprenticeship experience within an industrial electrical environment.
- Experience working on offshore and/or onshore industrial sites.
- Experience operating within strict health, safety and quality management systems.
- Experience working within a rope access environment is desirable.
