Role Purpose
The Electrical Shift Engineer reports directly to the Shift Leader. This role is accountable for delivering high standards of electrical PPM and reactive maintenance within critical facility operations with 100% uptime standards.
Responsibilities
Electrical Operations & Systems Management:
- Operate all electrical systems competently, effectively and efficiently including HV/LV distribution, standby generators, UPS systems, lighting, small power and control systems
- Deliver maintenance of electrical building systems including distribution boards, switchgear, emergency lighting, and power distribution infrastructure
- Ensure electrical compliance and statutory tasks are completed on time including PAT testing, emergency lighting tests, and fixed wire testing
- Monitor electrical utilities usage and power quality, reporting abnormalities or energy savings to client
- Support in identifying onsite critical electrical spares including site stock register and monthly auditing. Update electrical asset database accuracy within the CAFM System
- Provide emergency electrical engineering relief cover
- Own the delivery of electrical PPM and reactive tasks, ensuring reporting shows positive completion rates
- Identification of critical electrical plant and materials required to keep the client's electrical systems functioning effectively
- Supervise electrical sub-contractors through planned and reactive maintenance, reporting on findings and driving forward solutions with the client
- Ensure electrical plant areas, workshops, stores, changing and rest areas are kept to the highest level of housekeeping driving standards through the team
- Participate alongside team members on Event Days, attendance may be required outside of business hours depending on event criticality
- Coordinate with key stakeholders across the Event's planning teams in addition to the FM team, building solid relationships to be the 'trusted partner' in respect of electrical systems

Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with Account Team to achieve 100% critical electrical facilities uptime
- Attend operations meetings and client meetings as requested
- Support electrical projects, contractors, and planned/reactive electrical works
- Ensure immediate notification of critical electrical equipment issues with relevant reports and recommendations
Reporting & Documentation:
- Ensure team are providing accurate and complete details on their electrical PPM tasks
- Ensure accurate electrical information is supplied for client and internal reporting
- Support in compiling detail feeding into the electrical engineering risk register
- Report back to management on critical electrical systems availability and asset reliability
- Handle critical electrical incident (2-2-2) and near miss reporting with after-action reviews. Provide technical reports and improvement recommendations as required
- Manage electrical debit and WIP review and updates
Health & Safety Leadership:
- Proactively promote "Safety First" culture in line with JLL Cardinal Rules of Safety, with particular focus on electrical safety procedures
- Ensure safe, professional and conscientious conduct of all personnel working on electrical systems
- Drive electrical Health and Safety culture throughout the team including lockout/tagout procedures and permit to work systems
- Apply knowledge of safe systems of work and electrical compliance requirements including BS 7671
Additional Duties:
- Communicate and implement electrical technical/legislative updates effectively
- Participate actively in site escalation processes including on-call emergency electrical response
- Provide ONWH support for critical electrical works when required
- Become familiar with REM contract administrative requirements and JLL processes

Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Skills:
- Approved electrical apprenticeship or appropriate experience within electrical building services
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with staff and customers
- Formal qualification in electrical engineering
- Experience as an end user of electrical Building Management Systems and monitoring platforms
- Intermediate computer literacy using Windows Office applications
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with experience of electrical report writing
Qualifications:
- 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation (Essential)
- Previously LV/HV Authorised Person (Essential)
- C&G 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or equivalent (Essential)
- C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing (Desirable)
- Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
