Electrical Site Manager – Government Infrastructure Project

Location: Cambridge
Salary: £75,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Project Duration: 4 Years

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Site Manager to lead the delivery of electrical works on a major government infrastructure project based at an HMP site in Cambridge.

This is a long-term, four-year programme offering excellent job security, a competitive salary, and the opportunity to play a key role in delivering essential upgrades within a secure and highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of electrical works on site.
  • Lead and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, project specifications, and site procedures.
  • Coordinate with project managers, client representatives, and prison authorities.
  • Review and manage RAMS, permits, inspections, and quality documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required to work within an HMP environment.
