Site Manager – Electrically Biased HV Substation Projects
Location: Scotland
Contract: Outside IR35
Duration: Initial 12 months + long-term pipeline of work
Job Description
A leading engineering contractor is currently seeking experienced electrically biased Site Managers to support the delivery of major HV substation projects across Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering critical transmission and distribution infrastructure, with a strong pipeline of secured work offering long-term opportunities.
The successful candidates will have a strong electrical background within HV substations and will be responsible for managing site delivery, coordinating site teams and subcontractors, ensuring health & safety compliance, and supporting the successful completion of complex electrical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day site activities across HV substation projects
- Oversee electrical installation works and site delivery activities
- Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and project stakeholders
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme
- Monitor quality, progress and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
- Support planning, reporting and project delivery requirements
- Ensure all works are completed in line with client specifications and industry standards
Requirements:
- Previous experience managing HV substation projects
- Electrically biased background with experience delivering HV works
- Strong understanding of substation construction, installation and commissioning activities
- Experience working on live power infrastructure projects
- SMSTS qualification
- Scottish Power Competent Person authorisation
- APSA – Authorised Person Substation Access (Competent Person Fifth Edition Safety Rules) preferred

Contract Details:
- Outside IR35
- Initial 12-month contract with long-term work available
