Position/Title: Electrical Supervisor

Reporting To: Project Engineer / Site Manager


Roles and Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Supervisor to join our growing team and play a key role in the successful delivery of electrical installations across our projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, exceptional organisational skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

As Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading site-based electrical teams, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring programme delivery, and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and commercial awareness throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate electrical operatives and subcontractors on site.
  • Plan and organise daily and weekly activities in line with project programmes.
  • Allocate work packages effectively to maximise productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor workforce performance, attendance, and timekeeping.
  • Promote professional behaviour, teamwork, and best working practices.
  • Mentor and support the development of Chargehands, Electricians, and Apprentices.
  • Utilise ACC and T4 Boards to monitor project progress and workforce performance.

Planning, Productivity & Commercial Awareness

  • Support the development and maintenance of project programmes.
  • Monitor productivity, labour efficiency, and project progress.
  • Identify delays, variations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and issue Progress and Change Notices where required.
  • Record additional works and communicate commercial impacts to the Quantity Surveyor.
  • Obtain client approval for variations prior to undertaking additional work.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, RAMS, and permit systems.
  • Maintain the highest Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards on site.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessment reviews.
  • Lead weekly Toolbox Talks and safety briefings.
  • Ensure all electrical installations are completed in line with specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
  • Enforce site rules and company disciplinary procedures where required.
  • Contribute to weekly project progress reporting.

Technical Oversight

  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and standards.
  • Supervise the installation of containment systems, cabling, and electrical equipment.
  • Lead fault-finding activities and provide technical solutions as required.
  • Ensure testing, inspection, and commissioning activities are completed correctly and documented appropriately.

Materials, Plant & Asset Management

  • Manage material ordering and monitor deliveries in accordance with company procedures.
  • Use ACC to track materials and project progress.
  • Ensure sufficient availability of materials, tools, and site facilities.
  • Maintain stock control and minimise waste.
  • Manage company tools and equipment, ensuring their return and maintenance.

Communication & Coordination

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, project teams, and other trades.
  • Attend site coordination, planning, and progress meetings.
  • Manage client expectations and maintain a professional company image at all times.
  • Ensure all relevant project documentation, drawings, catalogues, and technical information are distributed and maintained.
