About The Role:

Working in our Technical Services department as part of our Renewable Energy team on commercial and industrial projects in our continually expanding division. The primary focus will be medium to large scale solar PV and battery storage systems, however, the installation of other low-carbon technologies and opportunities to support other Commercial and Residential contracts will be available.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting project managers with planning work activities
  • Managing construction personnel and delegating tasks to meet deadlines
  • Identifying potential safety hazards and managing them accordingly
  • Ensuring all personnel comply with health and safety practices, such as wearing the appropriate protective equipment
  • Performing regular inspections of the construction site
  • Checking work techniques are correct and safe
  • Managing orders and deliveries of construction materials
  • Completing site reports and other records
  • Attending site management meetings
  • Demonstrate competence/experience as an electrician
  • Work across a wide range of electrical installation types and materials
  • Demonstrate competence of electrical testing and completion of electrical installation certificates (NIC/EIC). Including appropriate collation of reports, software, correct application of testing equipment, etc.
  • To have an awareness of asset management and assist with the mobilisation of new contracts
  • Demonstrate a reasonable working knowledge of other building service systems
  • Review of internal and Subcontractor RAMS as necessary prior to approving contractors to undertake works.
  • Willing to work overtime to support the needs of the Business.

These duties and responsibilities may be changed in accordance with the needs of the company; in particular, the post holder may be required to provide support to holders of other posts according to changes in workload and patterns of working.

Essential Qualifications:

  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme
  • CSCS Managers Black Card or equivalent
  • A craft qualification such as a recognised electrical apprenticeship such as or equivalent to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Engineering or AM2
  • Full UK Drivers Licence
  • The current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381-18 Level 3 Award (18th Edition)
  • Valid and in date Grade card/CSCS Gold Card or equivalent qualification.

Desirable But Not Essential:

  • Experience of working in a busy large site environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project
  • An Inspection & Testing qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
  • EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems or
  • EAL Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems or equivalent NOS mapped MCS approved certification
