There's a permanent opportunity for an Electrical Supervisor to our iconic Houses of Parliament contracts in Westminster, London

An electrically biased, engineer and subcontractor focused role to lead on the delivery of PPM and ensure delivery of all services in line with the contract KPIs across the client's diverse estate, and to support the wider team in managing general maintenance services as required by the client.

The Role

To oversee and ensure Dalkia / Client procedures are followed ensuring the management of Health and Safety requirements and contract KPIs including but not exhaustive:

  • Key focus on Emergency Light Testing, UPS, Lightning Protection Systems and support all electrical works estate wide (HV/LV, building shutdown, generators etc) as required both PPM and MWs
  • Support scheduler and contract support team to ensure that all assigned PPMs are sent on to the relevant Engineers / Sub Contractors as appropriate and are scheduled for delivery within the given timeframes
  • Ensure all PPMs are assigned to the correct source of service (IE Contractor / In House) by cross checking latest version of scoping document
  • Monitor efficiency and performance of operatives and subcontractors and conduct performance reviews as required
  • Attend monthly subcontractor review meetings and provide data for reviews
  • Ensure Engineers complete PPM work orders in line with contract KPIs and SFG 20 requirements
  • Ensure materials and Drawdown orders are managed for relevant repairs and servicing, also report any shortfalls to the Admin Team / Contract Manager
  • Ensure PPMs are addressed within set timelines and distribution is managed across the engineering team, utilise the shift team to cover OOHs PPMs
  • Interact with the client's representatives in a professional polite manner and ensure the overall quality of service delivery
  • Ensure client meetings are managed to ensure productivity is maintained and to lead to resolutions and business opportunities
  • Ensure good communication with the wider team delivering a collective effort to complete monthly targets within SLA
  • Ensure that all Dalkia and Parliamentary Health and Safety / Environmental Codes of practice are followed in line with Policies and report any omissions or risks that might compromise a Safe Working Environment through internal and client reporting chains
  • Conduct Hazard reporting and supervisory inspections in line with Dalkia safety reporting App and work proactively to resolve Hazards ASAP
  • Coordinate resource to ensure all reasonable emergency call-out requests are attended in a timely fashion, assisting other team members as and when required
  • Manage own workload with autonomy and apply justified prioritisation in conjunction with both business and client needs
  • Be proactive in providing accurate information to PPM admin team to ensure all PPM reports are always up to date
  • Ensure that all PPMs work orders assigned are owned and managed through “Cradle to Grave” and to provide feedback to Contract Manager / Admin team should any issues arise
  • Ensure relevant Trackers are kept up to date and managed
  • Maintain all site records and logbooks as required and have the correct sign off narrative within the CAFM system (Planon)
  • Ensure remedial works are identified, reported and followed up correctly using the client's CAFM system
  • Look for ways to continually enhance site Maintenance operations and service delivery.
  • Plan overtime with engineers (should the need arise) and ensure all O/T works are monitored and reported on accurately
  • Carry out Engineer PDRs and ensure continuous training as per Dalkia HR processes
  • Manage aged WIP and Debt through account preparation, internal submission and attend commercial review meetings weekly
  • Clocking in and out daily
  • Weekly timesheet approval and submission of own timesheets
  • To host weekly TBT on an agreed Supervisor rota
  • Complete all E-Learning courses in line with Dalkia's compliance system
  • To oversee engineer holiday approval and absence management
  • Any other reasonable duties as required / requested by the Contract Manager and Account Manager.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 7.30am-4.30pm

Qualifications And Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Supervisor
  • Level 3 Electrical City and Guilds qualification (or relevant Electrical experience)
  • Previous experience as a Lead Engineer
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant PPM and Reactive Experience in a similar environment.
  • Experience of using a CAFM system
  • Results/ task orientated, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to providing an excellent service to clients.
  • Drive for personal development and professional progression.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, solve problems and work as part of a team and to have a flexible approach.
