Electrical Survey Engineer – EV Infrastructure
Location: West Hewish, Somerset / UK Site Based
Employment: Permanent, Full Time
We are looking for an Electrical Survey Engineer with an EV Infrastructure bias to join our growing team.
The role will involve undertaking electrical and EV infrastructure surveys across commercial, industrial, retail and public-sector sites, providing accurate technical information to support the design and delivery of EV charging and wider electrical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed electrical and EV site surveys.
- Assess existing electrical supplies, distribution boards, switchgear and infrastructure.
- Identify suitable locations for AC/DC EV charging equipment.
- Assess cable routes, containment and connection points.
- Gather information to support electrical capacity assessments and DNO applications.
- Produce accurate survey reports, photographs, sketches and technical mark-ups.
- Support CAD and electrical design teams with site information.
- Identify site constraints, risks and potential infrastructure upgrades.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, DNOs and project teams.
- Work in accordance with company H&S and Safe by Design procedures.

Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Electrical engineering, surveying or infrastructure experience.
- Good understanding of LV electrical systems and distribution.
- Experience undertaking site surveys.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and technical reporting skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable:
- Experience within the EV charging sector.
- Knowledge of AC/DC EV charging systems.
- Experience with DNO connections and electrical capacity assessments.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, solar PV or BESS.
- Relevant electrical engineering qualifications.
