A specialist engineering and manufacturing business operating within a highly technical, advanced manufacturing environment.

The company designs and builds bespoke industrial equipment and automated systems for customers across a range of technically demanding sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to strengthen their electrical and controls engineering team.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-value machinery within a technically challenging environment, while joining an established business with a strong employee retention record and a genuinely supportive working culture.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical / Controls Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for electrical and controls engineering across the full machine lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to commissioning.

Working closely with mechanical design and development teams, you will play a key role in delivering robust, compliant and high-performing machine control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical control systems, including schematics, panel layouts and BOMs
  • Develop and modify PLC programmes, ideally using Siemens and/or Allen Bradley
  • Design and integrate motion control and servo systems
  • Develop HMI and PC-based control systems
  • Design machinery safety systems in line with relevant standards
  • Integrate electrical and mechanical systems
  • Support FAT activities and machine commissioning
  • Provide technical support to service teams and customers where required
  • Work closely with senior engineering leadership on project delivery
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing electrical and controls systems
  • Take ownership of projects and contribute to the ongoing modernisation of control systems

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
