Electrical Technical Director – Mission Critical & Data Centres
Location: London / Flexible

The Opportunity
An award-winning, globally recognized MEP engineering and design consultancy is seeking a highly accomplished Electrical Technical Director to lead their growing Mission Critical and Data Centre division.
Known for delivering complex, high-performance, and sustainable engineering solutions, this consultancy partners with top-tier clients on some of the most technically demanding projects in the built environment. Due to a significant pipeline of high-profile data centre projects, they are looking for a strategic, technically astute leader to drive electrical design excellence, mentor a talented engineering team, and spearhead client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Act as the ultimate technical authority for complex electrical engineering solutions within the mission-critical sector, ensuring designs meet the highest standards of resilience, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Project Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of large-scale data centre projects, from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design and commissioning.
- Client Management: Build, maintain, and nurture relationships with key tech clients, developers, and architects. Act as the face of the electrical mission-critical offering.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and expand a team of specialist electrical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous professional development.
- Commercial Strategy: Work closely with the board to drive business development, lead bid submissions, and manage the commercial performance of the mission-critical portfolio.

The Ideal Candidate
- Extensive background in electrical building services engineering, with a proven track record operating at an Associate Director, Director, or Technical Director level.
- Deep, specialized expertise in Data Centres or Mission Critical facilities, with an exceptional understanding of resilient electrical infrastructure (e.g., MV/HV distribution, UPS systems, backup generation, and fault tolerance).
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and a strong network within the tech, data centre, or mission-critical real estate sectors.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
