Role Overview
The post holder will carry out necessary maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and continuous operation of mechanical and electrical engineering services and the building plant located in the Trust.
The post holder will undertake specific maintenance tasks and will carry out maintenance and repair across a wide range of interconnected highly complex plant and equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities

Liaison and Communication:
- Liaise with the management team on a daily basis to carry out work duties and report any issues.
- Liaise with all members of the Estates Department on a regular basis to assist each other and share knowledge.
- Have regular contact with all levels of staff, patients, and contractors where you will be expected to explain the problems, offer solutions, and be able to explain the impact of your work on their departments service delivery.

On-Call Rota:
- Participate in an on-call rota system to provide a flexible out-of-hours service throughout the night for all emergency jobs, covering all possibilities including building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing trades.

Relevant AP Duties
- Assisting and supporting estate officers.
- Mentoring assistants and those working towards a craftsperson’s role.
- Covering the supervisor role when required.
- Covering estate officer basic duties when off-site.
- Correct attitude and mindset, setting an example to the rest of the team.
- Problem-solving complicated electrical functions leading to a resolution.
- Have/Attain detailed site knowledge and understanding of the electrical plant and equipment.
- Work closely with the estate officers in key maintenance functions to achieve compliance.
- Take responsibility for completing key actions from Electrical Installation Condition Reports.
