About the Role

ATR is looking for an Electrical Technician to carry out inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of electrical equipment, both customer owned and within the hire fleet. The role will also include Portable Appliance Testing of all electrically operated equipment.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and electrically test and function non-Atex rated items such as extension cables, industrial transformers, junction boxes, flood lamps, heaters, and dehumidifiers.
  • Inspect, repair, electrically test and function more complex Atex rated items such as transformers, Atex rated lighting such as slam hornets, evo juniors, flood lamps, and battery-operated wolf lamps.
  • Inspect, repair, electrically test and function 3 phase equipment such as mains distribution units, transformers, and heaters.
  • Inspect, repair, electrically test, calibrate, and function test all types of welding equipment.
  • Disassembly of equipment.
  • Individual Component Inspection.
  • Competently use and understand the Portable Appliance Test Machine.
  • Compliance with the requirements of the job description and company HSSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks, or duties, which they can be trained, instructed, and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
  • Job card completion and housekeeping.

Requirements

  • Hold an MA in Electrical Maintenance or a similar electrical qualification, such as SVQ Level 3, or have relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to use their own initiative.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Reliable.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

  • COMPEX and ATEX qualifications.
  • Full driving license.
  • Manual handling skills.
