Here at Compliance Group Electrical, we’re seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer & Remedial Electrician to join our growing team in the Northampton/Peterborough/Cambridge/Derby/Leicester area.

Role Details

The role is based on 45 hours per week with 1hr unpaid travel time per day, including a 30-minute paid lunch break daily. All specialist equipment will be provided including Megger testers, SDS drills, and combi drills, along with uniform and a tablet, although engineers are expected to provide their own hand tools.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in commercial and industrial properties, with strong knowledge of single and three-phase installations.
  • Conduct electrical repairs and minor remedial works at a range of client sites to maintain compliance with BS 7671.
  • Travel to sites within your regional area (typically 1–1.5 hours travel) and work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
  • Liaise with the Helpdesk team regarding planned and routine maintenance programmes and reporting procedures. Record all works undertaken and ensure documentation is completed accurately and submitted within required timescales. Represent Compliance Group professionally while maintaining strong working relationships with clients.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Can you show experience in these areas?

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, AM2 qualification, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 / 2394 / 2395).
  • Proven experience completing commercial EICR testing and remedial works.
  • Experience working on three-phase installations and fault finding.
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile engineering role.

It would be advantageous if you hold ECS / JIB Gold Card, IPAF or PASMA certifications, although further training can be provided where required. A full UK driving licence is required, and an enhanced DBS check will be requested.
