The Opportunity

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer / EICR Engineer to join an established and growing electrical compliance contractor operating across London and the South East.

Our client has an excellent reputation for delivering electrical inspection, testing, compliance and remedial services across a range of commercial and industrial environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Test Engineer looking to join a business offering long-term stability, competitive earnings and opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across commercial and industrial properties
  • Undertake electrical inspection and testing in accordance with BS 7671 and current industry regulations
  • Identify electrical defects, non-compliances and potential safety hazards
  • Accurately record inspection findings and produce detailed electrical testing reports
  • Complete electrical remedial works where required
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely
  • Ensure all testing equipment is maintained and calibrated appropriately
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site representatives and internal management teams
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety throughout all works
  • Complete relevant certification and documentation accurately and within required timescales

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent recognised qualification
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Proven experience carrying out commercial electrical inspection and testing
  • Strong understanding of electrical compliance, fault finding and remedial works
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience testing within large commercial buildings, offices, retail environments and industrial premises
  • Experience using electronic certification and reporting software
  • Previous experience working within electrical compliance or facilities management environments
