Vacancy: Electrical Test & Quality Engineer

Location: Hindley Green

Are you ready to lead the way in ensuring the safety and excellence of our next generation of electrical power systems?

Join the Custom Solutions Test Team in Hindley Green as an Electrical Test and Quality Engineer. This role provides the final point of quality and compliance verification for customers by inspecting and testing custom-built electrical power systems. The work ensures every piece of equipment is safe, compliant, reliable, and built to the highest professional standards before it leaves the site.

You will make a difference by:

  • Performing routine electrical testing on bespoke LV Switchgear Assemblies in line with safe working practices
  • Checking wiring and component installation against schematics and engineering drawings
  • Conducting insulation resistance, continuity, dielectric, and functional tests
  • Maintaining fault logs, test certificates, and quality documentation to ISO9001 2015 standards
  • Ensuring compliance with BS EN 61439 requirements and customer specifications
  • Supporting the preparation, delivery, and follow-up of Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
  • Producing detailed test records, FAT documentation, and technical walkaround videos

What We Are Looking For

  • Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent) with practical electrical testing experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills including dielectric withstand (flash) testing of LV assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of BS EN 61439, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and single and three-phase electrical systems
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • A self-motivated and adaptable professional who can work independently while meeting deadlines
