The Position: Electrical Test & Validation Technician
We are supporting the delivery of complex engineering solutions across the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors and are currently looking to expand our technical team.
We're therefore looking for an experienced Electrical Test & Validation Technician to join our team in Portsmouth. This role will support the testing, verification and qualification of specialist equipment and systems within a highly regulated project environment. Working closely with engineering, commissioning and quality teams, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment is tested, documented and delivered in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Electrical Test & Validation Technician will include:
- Build, assemble and wire electrical test rigs and supporting test equipment.
- Carry out electrical testing, inspection and verification activities on equipment, assemblies and systems.
- Execute approved test procedures and protocols in accordance with project requirements.
- Record, analyse and report test results, identifying and documenting any deviations or non-conformances.
- Support factory acceptance testing and other formal verification activities prior to equipment installation.
- Assist with commissioning, qualification and validation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure all testing activities are completed in accordance with quality, safety and documentation standards within a regulated environment.

Alongside a Commitment To Our Values Of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, And Inclusiveness, We Are Looking For Individuals Who Can Bring The Following:
- Previous experience in electrical testing, verification or commissioning within pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, manufacturing or other regulated industries.
- Experience executing test procedures, recording results and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
- Knowledge of regulated working environments and quality management processes.
- Experience supporting equipment qualification, validation or commissioning activities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with electrical fault finding, test instrumentation and measurement techniques.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, investigate and document technical issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside engineers, suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Be based within commuting distance of Portsmouth, or willing to relocate, as this role requires regular site attendance and does not include travel expense coverage.

Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work.
