Role Description

The Electrical Trainer and Assessor will deliver high-quality, practical electrical training to learners in Glasgow City, ensuring courses align with current industry regulations and safety standards. This is an on-site role that involves planning and delivering lessons, demonstrations, and workshops, as well as preparing training materials and assessment resources.

  • Assessing learner competence through practical and written evaluations
  • Providing constructive feedback
  • Maintaining accurate training and assessment records
  • Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications

The trainer will collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve course content and may participate in quality assurance activities and industry liaison to keep training up to date.

Qualifications

  • Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent) and up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Recognized teaching or training qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, or equivalent) and experience delivering technical training in a classroom or workshop setting.
  • Assessment-related qualifications (e.g., TAQA or equivalent) and experience conducting practical and written assessments in a vocational environment.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and motivate a diverse group of learners.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and quality assurance.
  • Experience in the wider engineering or utilities sector (Gas, Water, Renewables, or Smart Metering) is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in an on-site training environment and collaborating with colleagues and external partners.
