Role Description
The Electrical Trainer role is a full-time, on-site position based at Innovo Academy CIC’s training facility in Glasgow. The Electrical Trainer will design and deliver high-quality electrical training sessions, blending theory with practical exercises to meet industry standards and awarding body requirements. - Planning lessons
- Preparing training materials and assessments

The role also involves:
- Developing and updating curricula
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintaining training equipment
- Collaborating with colleagues to continuously improve course content and learner experience
The Electrical Trainer will engage with learners of diverse backgrounds, supporting them to achieve qualifications and progress into technical roles within the engineering and utilities sectors.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in core electrical principles and applications, including Electricity and Electrical Maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Electrical Safety, with the ability to embed safe working practices into all training activities.
- Proven Training and Curriculum Development skills, with experience designing and delivering structured, learner-centered programs.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent), and recognized teaching or training certification would be a bonus.
- Experience in an industrial, utilities, or engineering environment, ideally in electrical, or renewables-related fields.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to different learner levels.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple courses, learners, and assessment deadlines.
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and supporting a diverse learner community.
