Allied Aerosystems serves diverse industries including aviation, telecommunications, power generation, medical, automotive, and research. With an international customer base, the organization has extensive experience handling customs and overseas shipping, offering reliable service to clients worldwide.

Role Description

The Electrical/Electronic Calibration Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Pontypridd. The technician will perform calibration, verification, and functional testing of a variety of electrical and electronic test and measurement instruments in accordance with company procedures and relevant standards.

Daily tasks include:

  • Setting up and operating laboratory equipment
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting instrumentation issues
  • Accurately recording test results and calibration data

The role also involves:

  • Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Supporting continuous improvement of calibration processes
  • Collaborating with colleagues to meet turnaround times and quality targets

The technician will interact with internal teams and, when required, assist with technical queries related to customer equipment and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong calibration skills with experience calibrating electrical and electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Proficient laboratory skills, including safe operation of lab instruments and adherence to quality and safety procedures.
  • Hands-on experience working with a range of test equipment and instrumentation used in avionics, RF, electrical power, and related fields.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electronic and electrical instruments, with sound problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant technical qualification in electrical/electronic engineering, instrumentation, or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Good understanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, and applicable calibration standards.
  • Competent in reading technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping and data entry skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a calibration laboratory or ISO/UKAS environment is beneficial.
