You will be working in the Building Services OU based in Walsall Manor Hospital where we are responsible for supporting hospitals nationwide, ensuring clean, well-ventilated, and heated spaces that aid patient recovery. We help cut energy use, carbon emissions, and waste costs, drawing on global best practice from over 400 healthcare projects.
We are currently looking for a Electrician who will undertake the full range of electrical engineering maintenance activities, observing all relevant safety standards and procedures, to ensure a safe working environment for all patients, visitors and staff.
As the Electrician, you will:
- Be responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment.
- Core skills will include, but are not limited to, undertaking the installation, modification to maintenance and repair.
- Required to carry out priority work requirements on essential patient equipment used in patient care package and having a direct impact detrimentally to the whole patient experience i.e. nurse call handsets.
- Maintains and updates own maintenance records, in paper format and also electronically.
- To be conversant with current legislation and health & safety law and to always work to these standards.
- Always work within maintenance procedures and safety standards.
- Participates in surveys, audits / undertakes acceptance testing of new equipment.

We are looking for:
- Possession of a recognised electrical trade qualification. (essential)
- Health and Safety qualification - IOSH Working Safely (desirable)
- Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Works Controller.
- Undertake planned maintenance works at the request of the Electrical Supervisor.
- Responsible for undertaking Electrical installations in accordance with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations, British Standards, Approved Codes of Practice and all relevant HTM’s.
- Experience of working within a hospital environment (desirable).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of H&S, Quality and Environmental standards and procedures.
