The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Technician / Electrical Designer to join our growing technical team. This is a key role responsible for leading the design and delivery of electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring designs are technically robust, fully compliant, and delivered to programme.

Working closely with internal teams, DNOs, IDNOs and external stakeholders, you will take ownership of complex LV and HV network designs, provide technical guidance to colleagues, and support the successful delivery of projects from initial concept through to final approval.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical designer looking to play a leading role within a growing and ambitious organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of LV and HV electrical infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
  • Produce high-quality design drawings, engineering calculations, reports and technical documentation within agreed timescales.
  • Review, check and approve electrical designs produced by Design Technicians, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and review single-line diagrams, earthing designs, network studies and associated engineering documentation.
  • Manage Points of Connection (POC) applications and design submissions to DNOs and IDNOs.
  • Liaise directly with DNOs, IDNOs and third-party network owners to secure technical approvals and progress projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all designs are compliant with G81 specifications, NERS requirements, Distribution Safety Rules (DSR) and relevant industry standards.
  • Coordinate design reviews, technical meetings and project progress updates.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of design standards, processes and best practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
