Role Overview
Are you a qualified Electrician looking for a stable, permanent role with a great work-life balance and the opportunity to make a real difference in local communities?
We're looking for skilled Electricians to join our Day to Day Team in Ely, working across Cambridgeshire. You'll become part of a supportive team of 24 operatives, carrying out a varied workload that keeps every day different. From fault finding and electrical repairs to replacing sockets, switches, heaters and extractor fans, you'll play a key role in maintaining safe and well-maintained homes for our customers.
A significant part of the role involves carrying out inspection and testing in occupied properties, producing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and completing any associated remedial works.
We provide a company van, power tools and ongoing training where required, giving you everything you need to succeed and continue developing your career.
Key Responsibilities
The role of Electrician – Day to Day Team will include:
- Carrying out electrical installations, maintenance and repairs in accordance with service specifications
- Diagnosing faults and undertaking remedial works to ensure properties remain safe and compliant
- Completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) within occupied homes
- Replacing sockets, switches, heaters, extractor fans and other electrical components as required
- Providing accurate updates to customers and keeping them informed throughout works
- Producing accurate daily work records and certification
- Responding positively to service issues and resolving problems effectively
- Ensuring tools, equipment and stock levels are maintained to enable efficient service delivery
- Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times

Skills and Experiences
To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to 18th Edition - 3rd and 4th amendment, NVQ Level 3 in core electrics, City & Guilds 2391-52 and AM2, Or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation. Analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills along with a customer focused approach
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
