About LOS Electrical Engineers

LOS Electrical Engineers is continuing to grow, and we are looking for experienced electrical professionals to join our site teams across London and the Thames Valley.

Opportunities Available At Three Levels

  • Electrician: £24.84 per hour
  • Approved Electrician: £26.40 per hour
  • Electrical Technician: £30.22 per hour

We are open to both permanently employed and self-employed/subcontract professionals, with an enhanced rate available for subcontractors to reflect the requirement to provide their own vehicle, fuel, and tools.

About LOS Electrical

LOS is a specialist electrical engineering contractor delivering large-scale electrical projects predominantly across the water, utilities, and industrial sectors. We sit within the GEL Group comprised of LOS Electrical, GEL Engineering & Hydrofast.

  • Large-scale electrical installations
  • Hazardous area DSEAR and ATEX installations
  • Electrical design and system upgrades
  • MCC installations
  • In-house panel building
  • Testing and commissioning

The Role

Working across client sites throughout London and the Thames Valley, you will support the installation, maintenance, testing, and delivery of electrical systems within operational and industrial environments.

Depending on your level of experience and qualifications, responsibilities may include:

  • Electrical installation across industrial environments
  • Installation of containment, cabling, and electrical equipment
  • Inspection, testing, and fault finding
  • Reading and working from electrical drawings and technical documentation
  • Supporting testing and commissioning activities
  • Maintaining accurate project and testing documentation
  • Working safely within live operational environments
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and housekeeping
  • Representing LOS professionally when working on client sites

Electrician - £24.84 per hour

We are looking for qualified Electricians with:

  • Relevant City & Guilds electrical qualifications
  • Valid JIB/ECS Card
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Good practical electrical installation experience
  • Strong health and safety awareness
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a site team

Industrial or water sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential for the right candidate.

Approved Electrician - £26.40 per hour

In addition to the above, Approved Electricians should have:

  • City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent inspection and testing qualification
  • Minimum two years' relevant experience
  • Strong inspection, testing, and fault-finding capability
  • Ability to work competently and independently once briefed
  • Good understanding of electrical documentation and compliance

Electrical Technician - £30.22 per hour

Our Electrical Technician opportunities are suited to experienced electrical professionals with:

  • Minimum four years' relevant experience
  • Appropriate electrical qualifications
  • Electrical design qualifications and experience
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Experience supporting technically complex project delivery
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Hours & Rates

All roles operate on:

  • 10-hour days, Monday to Friday

PAYE Rates For New Starters

  • Electrician: £24.84 per hour
  • Approved Electrician: £26.40 per hour
  • Electrical Technician: £30.22 per hour

Self-employed and subcontract professionals are also welcome to apply. An enhanced rate is available to reflect contractors providing their own vehicle, fuel, and tools.

Permanent Employee Benefits

Tools and equipment required for the role will also be provided to permanently employed team members.
