Experienced Electrician – Edinburgh & Surrounding Areas

£42,000–£46,000 Basic Salary | Realistic OTE £60,000 | Company Van | Fuel Card | Overtime | Permanent

Are you an experienced electrician looking for stable, local work with a company that genuinely invests in its people? Building Finishing Services UK Ltd (BFS) — one of Scotland's fastest-growing repairs and maintenance contractors — is expanding, and we're looking for a skilled Electrician to join our team covering Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

This is a permanent role offering steady local work, regular overtime, real career progression, and the backing of a supportive, forward-thinking business.

Package

  • £42,000–£46,000 basic salary
  • Realistic OTE of £60,000
  • Company van and fuel card

Working Pattern & Location

  • Monday–Friday, 40 hours
  • Regular overtime opportunities, including evening/weekend/on-call availability
  • Local work across Edinburgh & surrounding areas, based out of Sighthill Industrial Estate, Edinburgh

The Role Working across domestic properties, primarily within social housing and reactive maintenance contracts, you'll carry out:

  • Rewiring – full and partial rewires
  • Fault finding and electrical repairs
  • EICRs, testing and remedial works
  • Consumer unit replacements
  • Minor installations
  • Void property upgrades
  • Planned maintenance
  • Digital job reporting using handheld devices

You'll work as part of a team of electricians, reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, covering Edinburgh and surrounding areas — working independently day-to-day while liaising closely with planners, supervisors and other trades to deliver a high-quality service.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Gold ECS Card
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382)
  • Inspection & Testing (C&G 2391)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience in domestic electrical maintenance and rewiring
  • Strong fault-finding skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication
  • Ability to work independently
