Electrician
Hours: 40 hours
Location: Bristol
At Mitie, we're looking for a skilled and customer-focused Electrician to provide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and remedial works across our client portfolio. You'll play a key role in ensuring electrical systems and associated building services operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include:
- Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive, and remedial works using electronic maintenance systems and handheld devices.
- Maintaining, repairing, testing, and inspecting electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimum performance.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
- Supporting the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation plant to maximise reliability and availability.
- Providing technical support and input into projects, improvements, and operational initiatives.
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to communicate technical requirements and resolve issues.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, reports, registers, and certification through digital systems.
- Undertaking maintenance activities and inspections within confined spaces and at height where required.
- Supporting winter maintenance services, including gritting and snow clearance activities when necessary.
- Accepting formal appointments as a Competent Person where required.
- Contributing to business continuity, sustainability, and social value initiatives across the contract.
- Completing additional duties as directed by the Supervisor or Management Team.

- Has strong experience in electrical maintenance within facilities management, building services, or commercial environments.

- Works safely and diligently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Communicates effectively with clients, colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Is committed to delivering excellent customer service.
- Can work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Is comfortable using handheld technology and electronic maintenance management systems.

- NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering maintenance discipline or equivalent recognised qualification.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Multi-Discipline) or equivalent.
- Electrical Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) experience or qualification.
- Experience installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical equipment.
- Ability to provide maintenance support across both electrical and basic mechanical disciplines.
- Up-to-date knowledge of electrical regulations and industry best practice.
- Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working within facilities management, critical environments, or complex commercial buildings.
- Competent Person authorisations or industry-recognised electrical accreditations.
- Experience using CAFM and electronic maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Experience supporting business continuity and critical infrastructure operations.

- Report any actual or suspected security incidents promptly.
