Role
The role is primarily focused on industrial electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair of motors, pumps, actuators, control panels, and electrically operated plant.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance
- Fault finding and repair of motors, pumps, and associated control equipment
- Maintenance of motor control panels, contactors, relays, overloads, and control circuits
- Maintenance and testing of electric actuators, sluice gates, penstocks, and valves
- Electrical maintenance of weed screen grabs, screens, conveyors, winches, and other motor-driven equipment
- Inspection, testing, and repair of cables, isolators, control equipment, and electrical installations
- Electrical fault diagnosis using drawings, schematics, and test equipment
- Replacement of electrical components and minor electrical modifications
- Functional testing of equipment following maintenance and repair
- Basic electrical checks associated with telemetry and remote monitoring where required
- Completion of maintenance records and reporting of defects or further remedial requirements

Skills & Experience
- Recognised electrical qualification essential (Electrical Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- ECS / JIB Gold Card or equivalent industry-recognised competency card
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure electrical works
- Strong technical understanding of electrical installations and safe isolation procedures
- Experience in maintenance, fault finding, and installation works
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
