Role

The role is primarily focused on industrial electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair of motors, pumps, actuators, control panels, and electrically operated plant.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Fault finding and repair of motors, pumps, and associated control equipment
  • Maintenance of motor control panels, contactors, relays, overloads, and control circuits
  • Maintenance and testing of electric actuators, sluice gates, penstocks, and valves
  • Electrical maintenance of weed screen grabs, screens, conveyors, winches, and other motor-driven equipment
  • Inspection, testing, and repair of cables, isolators, control equipment, and electrical installations
  • Electrical fault diagnosis using drawings, schematics, and test equipment
  • Replacement of electrical components and minor electrical modifications
  • Functional testing of equipment following maintenance and repair
  • Basic electrical checks associated with telemetry and remote monitoring where required
  • Completion of maintenance records and reporting of defects or further remedial requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Recognised electrical qualification essential (Electrical Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • ECS / JIB Gold Card or equivalent industry-recognised competency card
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure electrical works
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical installations and safe isolation procedures
  • Experience in maintenance, fault finding, and installation works
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence
