Role: Electrician

Location: Birmingham, B18

Contract: 4 Months contract (Potential For Permanent)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrician to join a hospital facilities team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, repairs and fault finding across hospital buildings and facilities. You will work as part of a professional maintenance team, ensuring all electrical systems are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with relevant regulations and site standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment across hospital facilities.
  • Complete electrical inspections, testing and minor installation works where required.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and breakdowns.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current electrical regulations and health & safety procedures.
  • Complete maintenance records, job sheets and relevant documentation.
  • Work closely with other maintenance and facilities team members.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship while working in a live hospital environment.
  • Follow all site-specific safety, compliance and infection-control procedures.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • AM2
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation
  • Previous experience as an electrician in a commercial, healthcare or facilities maintenance environment is highly desirable.
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
