Aureos Approved Electrician Opportunity
Aureos are seeking an Approved Electrician to carry out electrical installation, maintenance, testing, inspection, and fault-finding activities in accordance with the latest BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition), company procedures, and health and safety requirements.
The role involves delivering high-quality electrical work across commercial, industrial, and domestic environments while ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations.
Location: Scotland, Highlands & Islands
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Carry out electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Conduct fault-finding and diagnosis of electrical systems and rectify defects.
- Perform inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations where qualified.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with current Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Complete electrical installation certificates, job sheets, and relevant documentation accurately.
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and colleagues on site.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are maintained and used safely.
- Assist with project delivery, commissioning activities, and site surveys as required.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and report any safety concerns.

Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2365, 2330, or equivalent electrical qualification.
- City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- AM2 Qualification.
- ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician status).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Inspection and Testing.
- IPAF Licence.
- PASMA Certificate.
- First Aid at Work.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualifications.
Essential Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience as an Approved Electrician.
- Experience working on commercial and/or industrial electrical installations.
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Ability to diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
- Experience installing containment systems, wiring, and distribution equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in facilities management or maintenance contracts.
- Experience in renewable energy installations.
- Experience supervising apprentices or junior electricians.
- SSE Authorization
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

The Post Holder Will
- Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and near misses immediately.
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed on all sites.
Working Conditions
- Site-based role with travel to various locations.
- Occasional overtime, evenings, and weekends may be required.
- Work may involve outdoor environments, confined spaces, and working at height where appropriate training has been provided.
