Role Description
The Electrician role at Southwest Facilities Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Bournemouth. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in domestic and commercial properties, such as wiring, lighting, sockets, consumer units, and control panels. The Electrician will carry out fault-finding, testing, and inspection, ensure work complies with relevant electrical regulations, and complete accurate documentation and reports. The role involves attending scheduled jobs and emergency call-outs, liaising with customers to understand their needs, and working closely with colleagues and other trades to deliver timely, high-quality work. The Electrician is expected to follow health and safety procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and represent the company professionally on-site.

- Professional electrical trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent) and relevant industry certifications (such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair within residential and/or commercial environments, including fault-finding and testing.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, building regulations, and best practices for on-site work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and job specifications accurately.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites in and around Bournemouth as required.
- Right to work in the UK and flexibility to work occasional overtime or participate in an out-of-hours rota if needed.
