Based in Witney, Oxfordshire, MEICA Technical Services (MTS) Ltd is a specialist engineering contractor delivering Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) solutions across the water, utilities and energy sectors. Our core expertise lies within the UK water industry. In your role as an Electrician, you will work under the Electrical Supervisor and Contract Managers delivering high-quality industrial electrical installations with opportunities to develop specialist ICA skills.

The role requires a proactive Electrician with strong industrial electrical experience and, ideally, with some knowledge of Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) within the water industry. Projects are based throughout the UK and occasional working away from home is required.

  • Carry out industrial electrical installations to BS7671.
  • Install containment, SWA, multicore, power, control and instrumentation cabling.
  • Install MCCs, control panels and field instrumentation.
  • Read drawings, schematics and cable schedules.
  • Assist with commissioning and fault finding.
  • Comply with Permit to Work systems and H and S.
  • Complete quality documentation.
  • Support apprentices and maintain excellent housekeeping.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.
  • 18th Edition.
  • ECS Gold Card.
  • Industrial electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of BS7671.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Willingness to work away when required.

Highly Desirable

  • Water industry experience.
  • Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) experience.
  • 2391/2394 and 2395.
  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • First Aid
  • Confined Space

Training and Development

Training will be provided in water industry standards, ICA systems, manufacturer equipment, Permit to Work systems and company procedures. Career progression is available to Senior Electrician, Electrical Supervisor and Contract Manager.

Hours, Holidays and Benefits

  • Full-time permanent position.
  • 40-hour week plus paid travel (travel paid door to door on a flat rate, approximately 7-10 hours per week).
  • Overtime available.
  • Enhanced rates for working away.
  • 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) increasing with service.
  • JIB rates paid at a minimum, or salary dependent on experience.
  • Company van and fuel card.
  • Company pension.
  • Uniform and PPE.
  • DBS check required.
