Electricians

Are you looking to develop an interesting and rewarding career in an ambitious city? Are you highly motivated, professional, and friendly? We are looking for experienced Electricians to work in our Safety Services team.

Southampton is a city of opportunity. Can you help us deliver the vision for the entire city, ensuring we leave a positive legacy for future generations?

About You

You will be part of the busy Safety Services team undertaking electrical work in some of our larger projects. This may include ECR testing, rewiring, fire stopping works, kitchen and bathroom replacement programme, disabled adaptations etc. The post holder must hold an NVQ3 in Electrical Installations, C&G 2360 (2357), AM2, 2391, and the 18th Edition Regulations qualifications.

Experience and knowledge in this field is a must.

You will need a full clean driving licence in order to drive our vehicles and will also be required to undergo a DBS check as part of the pre-employment checks.

As the work is varied, a flexible approach is required to meet changing needs and tight deadlines. Excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm, and a ‘can do’ attitude is all essential as you’ll be our ambassador when you visit our customers’ homes to deliver materials and assist in carrying out repairs and installations to the highest of standards. You will liaise with residents, peers, and colleagues on a daily basis so communication and customer focus will be essential to the role. Organisational, customer service, time management, and physical skills are key to this role.

About Us

We are committed to being a Child and Resident Friendly City where people are proud to live and work and where you can make a significant difference to our local communities. We want Southampton to be a modern city, amongst the best places to grow up, live and work in and we are committed to tackling inequality and to creating a city that is greener, fairer, and healthier.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
