IDES is a nationwide electrical contractor operating across the commercial and industrial sectors. We specialise in automotive repair facilities, warehousing, retail, hospitality, and healthcare environments.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit Qualified Electricians to join our expanding team.
Our Services
IDES delivers a fully integrated electrical service offering, from design and installation through to testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance. Our core services include:
- Electrical Installation (Lighting, Power, Containment, Switchgear & Distribution)
- Electrical Maintenance (Planned & Reactive)
- Lighting Design & Installation (Workshops, Offices & External Areas)
- LED Lighting Upgrades (Including Workshops & Spray Booths)
- Emergency Lighting (Installation, Testing & Maintenance)
- Periodic Inspection & Testing (EICR)
- EV Charge Point Installation & Maintenance
- Solar PV Design & Installation
- Fire Alarm Systems (Installation, Commissioning, Testing & Maintenance)
- Security Systems, Intruder Alarms & CCTV
- Data Infrastructure Installation
The Role
As a Qualified Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, and minor testing works across a range of commercial and industrial projects nationwide.

You will work both independently and as part of a team, delivering high-quality installations in line with current regulations, project specifications, and company standards.
Projects will vary from small reactive works through to large-scale installations, including full fit-out and refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671
- Install containment systems, cabling, distribution boards, and final circuits
- Undertake electrical maintenance and fault-finding
- Support testing and inspection activities where required
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical schematics
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment
- Represent IDES professionally on client sites
Knowledge & Requirements
- Fully qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- AM2 Qualification
- BS 7671: 18th Edition (current)
- Valid ECS Gold Card
- Proven experience in commercial and/or industrial installations
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and safe working practices
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to work nationwide and stay away from home when required

Desirable
- Experience working within automotive/bodyshop environments
- IPAF Certification (in date)
- PASMA Certification
- Basic inspection & testing knowledge (2391 or working towards)

Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Availability: Immediate start
Base Salary: £49,000 – £58,500* per annum (DOE)
Excludes working away bonus
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (10-hour day, inclusive of travel and breaks)
- Saturday – Sunday (voluntary overtime)
