Unique Opportunity for a Site Maintenance Electrician

Job Overview

Join a prestigious training facility in Chatham, Kent as a Site Maintenance Electrician. Become part of the maintenance team based at the Royal School of Military Engineering, home of the Royal Engineers.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: £36K rising to £38K after probation (increased by 3% in August 2026)
  • Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), permanent

Role Responsibilities

The Maintenance Electrician will:

  • Work on inspection, testing, and repair of electrical machinery and equipment used within the technical trade workshops, offices, and classrooms.
  • Carry out installation works in support of the training requirements.

The role will involve:

  • AC/DC motor and generators
  • Maintenance and operation of LV switchgear
  • Control gear and equipment
  • Electric portable tools
  • Welding machines
  • Workshop wiring and distribution systems
  • Fault finding on controls and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant qualifications such as C&G, NVQ, 18th Edition IET Regulations.
