Unique Opportunity for a Site Maintenance Electrician
Job Overview
Join a prestigious training facility in Chatham, Kent as a Site Maintenance Electrician. Become part of the maintenance team based at the Royal School of Military Engineering, home of the Royal Engineers.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: £36K rising to £38K after probation (increased by 3% in August 2026)
- Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), permanent

Role Responsibilities
The Maintenance Electrician will:
- Work on inspection, testing, and repair of electrical machinery and equipment used within the technical trade workshops, offices, and classrooms.
- Carry out installation works in support of the training requirements.

The role will involve:
- AC/DC motor and generators
- Maintenance and operation of LV switchgear
- Control gear and equipment
- Electric portable tools
- Welding machines
- Workshop wiring and distribution systems
- Fault finding on controls and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant qualifications such as C&G, NVQ, 18th Edition IET Regulations.
