Position overview:
As the plant Electrician, you will be a member of the wider Maintenance Team that plays a critical part in supporting the plant's overall business plans and objectives as directed. This role will involve a variety of aspects from day to day fault finding to setting up the brand-new production lines, flexibility is required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installs and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment for can and/or end making, power, lighting control, and PLC logic controls for all production processes and control equipment.
- Troubleshoots, adjusts, and repairs all electrical equipment, components, transducers, and complex timing and inspection devices.
- Performs preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems.
- Identifies inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through supervisor to resolve them.
- Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and corrects through programmable logic controls. Ensures efficient equipment operation through proper line control programming and proactively suggests methods to improve line performance.
- Installs and troubleshoots facility power distribution and lighting services.
- Must display competent ability to wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems in an extremely neat and professional manner and conform to Ball wiring specifications.
- Updates wiring schematics and computer program printouts.
- Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
- Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs, JBSs).

What are we looking for?
- Experience in a similar role in a fast-paced, critical 24/7 manufacturing or industrial company
- Minimal qualification of Electrical NVQ Level 3, desirable qualification HNC/HND in electrical engineering
- Clear communication across all levels and ability to train colleagues as needed
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools and electronic testing equipment
- Working knowledge of the following areas: nomenclature of all assigned equipment; solid state circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices.
