Electrician / Electrical Maintenance Engineer
NVQ Level 3 & AM2 Required
Multiple Openings at Equinix LD14
If you're a qualified electrician looking for something more than routine maintenance work, we'd like to hear from you.
We're growing the engineering team at LD14, one of Equinix's newest London/Slough data centres, and we're hiring across multiple experience levels.
If you've completed your NVQ Level 3 and AM2 and have experience working on electrical systems, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.
Whether you've worked in commercial building services, facilities maintenance, utilities, rail, the Armed Forces, or another technical environment, your skills could be a great fit.
What You'll Be Working On
You'll be part of the team responsible for keeping the site running safely and reliably 24 hours a day. That includes:
- Electrical distribution systems
- UPS systems
- Standby generators
- Switchgear
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Cooling and HVAC equipment
- Fire and life safety systems
Your day could involve planned maintenance, fault finding, responding to alarms, supporting contractors, carrying out inspections, reviewing system performance, or helping deliver infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include operating, maintaining and repairing critical facility systems, responding to incidents, supporting vendors and maintaining site documentation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
