Role Description
The Electrician – Estates Maintenance role is a full-time, on-site position based at Concord College’s campus near Shrewsbury. The role involves carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work across school buildings and facilities, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and reliable. - Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults
- Performing planned and reactive maintenance
- Supporting estates projects such as refurbishments and upgrades

The Electrician will work closely with the wider Estates team, contractors, and other staff members to minimize disruption to college activities and maintain a safe environment for students and employees. The role also includes:
- Maintaining accurate records
- Following health and safety procedures
- Responding to urgent maintenance requests as required
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in electricity and electrical work, with the ability to work safely to current regulations and standards.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment within a multi-building or campus environment.
- Proven troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults efficiently.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles relevant to building services and infrastructure.
- Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and appropriate industry certifications (such as 18th Edition wiring regulations).
- Understanding of health and safety legislation, safe systems of work, and risk assessment in estates or facilities settings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and time management skills.
- Experience in an educational, residential, or similar environment is an advantage; willingness to participate in out-of-hours or on-call rota if required.
