Role Description
The Electrician / EV Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some work-from-home flexibility for planning, reporting, and remote support tasks.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Installing and commissioning domestic and commercial EV charging points
- Carrying out fault-finding and repairs
- Performing routine maintenance in line with manufacturer and regulatory standards
- Conducting on-site surveys
- Assessing electrical infrastructure
- Advising customers on safe, compliant installation options
- Completing technical documentation, test results, and digital reports
- Collaborating with the wider team to coordinate schedules and ensure high-quality service
- Staying up to date with evolving EV technologies, safety regulations, and best practices
Qualifications
- Strong practical electrical installation skills, including experience with domestic and/or commercial wiring and consumer units.
- Good diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for electrical faults and EV charging equipment issues.
- Knowledge of current electrical regulations and standards (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations) and commitment to safe working practices.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
- Competence in basic IT and software tools for documentation, remote monitoring, and use of manufacturer apps or platforms.
- Relevant electrical qualifications or apprenticeship completion (e.g., Level 3 electrical qualification, JIB-approved electrician status, or equivalent).
- Full, clean UK driving license and willingness to travel within the London Area and occasionally nationwide.
- Previous experience with EV charging installations or renewable energy systems is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work independently on-site while collaborating with office and field teams in a hybrid working environment.
