Mr Charger Ltd is an OZEV Government accredited installer of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points, providing trusted solutions across the United Kingdom. The company operates nationwide, delivering domestic and commercial EV charging installations tailored to a wide range of customer needs. In addition to installation services, Mr Charger offers ongoing maintenance and software support for charging points from all major manufacturers. The team focuses on reliability, safety, and customer service, supporting the transition to sustainable transport through high-quality EV charging infrastructure.
Role Description
This is a full-time Electrician / EV Engineer role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a hybrid working arrangement that allows some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, testing, and commissioning domestic and commercial EV charging points in line with current electrical regulations and manufacturer specifications. The role involves carrying out diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on EV charging systems, as well as performing routine maintenance and software updates. The Electrician / EV Engineer will complete accurate documentation, reports, and certificates, liaise with customers on-site, and coordinate with the wider team to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard. Some remote work may include preparing documentation, completing online training, and coordinating with clients and colleagues via digital tools.

Qualifications

- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and full compliance with current UK wiring regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
- Proven experience as a qualified electrician, ideally including EV charging installations or similar domestic and commercial electrical work.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety, testing, inspection, and fault-finding procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, installation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Comfort with EV charging technologies, hardware, and basic software configuration or updates.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail when completing reports, certificates, and digital documentation.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within the London Area and, when required, to other sites.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment, including the use of digital tools for remote collaboration.
- Experience in renewable energy, smart home technologies, or low-carbon transport infrastructure is beneficial.
