Electrician – Production Facilities

Location: Osprey Quay, Portland, Dorset

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Starting salary £34,000 dependent on experience

The Role

G3 Systems is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Production Facilities operation at Osprey Quay.

You will play a key role in the manufacture, fit-out, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of deployable, containerised solutions for UK and international customers.

The role will support both new production operations and on-site life-support maintenance, ensuring electrical systems and equipment are safely installed, tested, maintained and operational throughout the production and service life of our solutions.

This is a hands-on position working within a multidisciplinary production and engineering environment, with the opportunity to work across a varied range of electrical installations, equipment and deployable systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake electrical installation, testing, inspection, fault finding and maintenance within the production facility.
  • Support the manufacture and electrical fit-out of deployable containerised solutions.
  • Install and commission electrical systems and equipment within new production builds.
  • Carry out modifications, repairs and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Undertake planned and reactive electrical maintenance of production facilities, equipment and life-support systems.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective corrective action.
  • Support the commissioning, testing and preparation of completed units for deployment.
  • Provide on-site electrical support for life-support maintenance and through-life servicing of deployed or returned equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Facilities and HSE colleagues to deliver safe and efficient operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, testing, maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, company procedures and safe systems of work.

About You

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician who is comfortable working in a production, industrial or engineering environment and enjoys practical, varied work.

You will have:

  • Recognised electrical qualifications and relevant practical experience.
  • Experience in electrical installation, maintenance and fault finding.
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • A strong understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
  • A practical, methodical and solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to support changing production, commissioning and maintenance requirements.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction or industrial environments.
  • Experience with containerised or modular systems.
  • Experience of electrical fit-out and commissioning.
  • Industrial electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Inspection and Testing qualification.
  • Experience working with HVAC, power distribution, control systems or other building/life-support services.
