Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the delivery of high-quality domestic retrofit projects by carrying out site inspections, reviewing completed works, identifying non-conformances, and helping project teams maintain strong standards of workmanship, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role is particularly suited to a qualified plumber or electrician with strong practical knowledge of domestic building services, including heating systems, plumbing, electrical works, ventilation, heat pumps, solar PV, controls, and domestic retrofit measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out quality assurance inspections on domestic retrofit projects, including heating, plumbing, ventilation, insulation-related interfaces, and renewable heating installations.
  • Assess completed works against company standards, project specifications, relevant building regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry best practice.
  • Review the quality of plumbing, mechanical, and electrical installations, including heating controls, pipework, cylinder installations, heat pump connections, radiators, underfloor heating systems, ventilation systems, solar PV interfaces, wiring standards, and associated commissioning documentation.
  • Identify defects, poor workmanship, safety concerns, incomplete works, or non-compliance issues and ensure these are documented clearly.
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports, including photographs, findings, recommendations, corrective actions, and follow-up requirements.
  • Work closely with retrofit coordinators, project managers, site teams, contractors, engineers, BER assessors, and homeowners to resolve quality issues efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality trends and recommending improvements to processes, training, specifications, or contractor performance.
  • Provide practical technical guidance to contractors and internal teams, particularly on plumbing, heating, electrical, controls, ventilation, and mechanical aspects of retrofit projects.
  • Monitor corrective actions to ensure issues are closed out within agreed timelines and to the required standard.
  • Promote a strong quality, safety, and customer-focused culture across all retrofit activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
