Role Description
This is a full-time & sub contract on-site Electrician role based in the City of Leicester. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and control systems in commercial and industrial environments. - Reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs
- Diagnosing faults
- Performing safe isolations
- Replacing or upgrading components
- Ensuring all work complies with current regulations and company standards
- Completing relevant documentation
- Supporting testing and inspection activities
- Collaborating with engineers, site managers, and clients to deliver projects safely and on time

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in electricity principles and safe working practices with live and isolated systems
- Proven experience in electrical work, including installation, testing, and commissioning of commercial and industrial systems
- Skills in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting to diagnose, rectify, and prevent electrical faults efficiently
- Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts relevant to building services, distribution boards, and control systems
- Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and relevant City & Guilds or similar certifications
- Familiarity with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and current UK electrical safety and building regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and method statements
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, including use of PPE and adherence to risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across various client sites as required
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach
