Electrician / Caretaker
Permanent, Full-Time, 38 hours a week
Salary: Scale 6, points 18 - 22 £32,578 - £34,811 (Actual salary £33,458.49 - £35,751.84)
Start date: January 2027

The Role
You will take lead responsibility for electrical maintenance across the school estate whilst also supporting the wider caretaking and facilities function.
Electrical Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out electrical repairs and maintenance across the school premises
- Emergency lighting inspections and testing
- PAT testing
- Undertaking and coordinating five-year fixed wiring inspections
- Carrying out remedial works identified through inspection reports
- Maintaining lighting systems on the school's 3G pitches where accessible
- Supporting energy efficiency projects
You will also work closely with our IT and Operations teams to support:
- New data cabling installations and trunking
- Mounting TVs, screens, projectors and other AV equipment
- Installation and maintenance of CCTV systems
- Additional access control points and associated electrical works
- Fibre infrastructure projects
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds relevant electrical qualifications
- Has experience carrying out electrical maintenance and fault finding
- Takes pride in delivering high-quality work
- Is proactive and practical in identifying solutions
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and working within a school environment
- Wants a long-term role where they can contribute to the success of the school

The successful candidates will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
