Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer for an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Newtown. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the full product lifecycle, designing and developing innovative electro-mechanical products from concept through to manufacture.

Shift: 38-hour week, Flexitime

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary of £40,000 - £50,000

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical products and assemblies from concept to manufacture
  • Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
  • Design mechanical components and electrical systems, supporting product integration
  • Support the integration of motors, actuators, sensors, and control systems
  • Assist with prototype builds, testing, validation, and commissioning
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
  • Work closely with Production and Assembly teams to support new product introduction
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance product performance and manufacturability

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience designing and developing electro-mechanical products or systems
  • Proficient with 3D CAD software and engineering documentation
  • Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience integrating mechanical and electrical components into complete systems
  • Understanding of motors, actuators, sensors, and control systems
  • Knowledge of PLCs, CANbus, testing/validation, or ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous
